Head Teacher

Mrs. Regina Emah, an indigene of Patani in Delta State holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English which she obtained from Obafemi Awolowo University in July, 1983. She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos (1996).
In 1992 she started her teaching career  in Corona Primary School, Apapa, Lagos where she taught classes four, five and six respectively from 1992-2000 after which she was transferred to Corona Primary School, Gbagada, where where she taught classes three, five and six from 2000-2011. She has had several professional trainings within and outside Nigeria which have enhanced her profession. In 2003, she travelled to the United Kingdom to attend the Summer Programme in University College in Chester.

During her years in Corona Schools, she addressed the individual needs of the pupils by preparing different assessments for the pupils, utilised continuous evaluation and achievement reports. She was able to provide an innovative and challenging learning environment engaging in effective and appropriate classroom management. She has developed lifelong learners in the school through involvement of the family and community interaction.
In September, 2011, she took up an appointment with Start-Rite Nursery and Primary School, Apo, Abuja as the Sectional Head of the Primary School and also taught the Primary Five pupils. As the Sectional Head of the Primary, she supervised individual teachers and monitored their activities in the class. She related with the parents regularly to ensure their involvement and participation in the learning of their children, she also ensured that Primary School tests and examinations were properly conducted, graded and recorded. She prepared and presented School reports to the Head of School and also prepared the children for external examinations and competitions.

While in Start-Rite School, she doubled as the Learning Support Coordinator in the Nursery and Primary School and was also the school’s English Coordinator. She supervised the class teachers and Learning Support teachers on their activities with the children who had challenges in their learning.
She is a very passionate, diligent and dedicated teacher who derives fulfillment from children’s education towards their lifelong achievements. This has kept her in the education sector and has left her void of regrets even after twenty-five years.
She hopes to continue in the education and training of children and teachers until her retirement.
